Ordering and subscriptions

How does Atome Bakery work?

Build a box of ready-to-bake bread and pastries, choose a one-time order or a subscription, then bake from the freezer at home. Most of our bread and pastries are frozen before baking, so you bake them once, in your own oven.

What is the difference between a subscription and a one-time order?

A subscription brings your box back every 30 or 60 days and saves you 20%. A one-time box is a single order with no repeat. The box builder is for subscriptions, and one-time boxes of 6, 10 or 12 items are available through the one-time box builder.

How often will my subscription box arrive?

You choose every 30 or 60 days. We email you 4 days before any new order is charged.

Can I skip or cancel my subscription?

Yes. You can skip or cancel at any time, with no commitment. Manage your subscription from the link in the site footer or write to hello@atomebakery.com.

When is shipping free?

Shipping is free on orders above $149. If the shipping cost for your address is over $40, an extended delivery area fee applies. Your exact cost shows at checkout.

Where is Atome Bakery made?

Our sourdough is made by hand in our Vancouver bakery, and every order ships frozen across Canada.

Delivery

Where do you deliver?

We ship frozen across Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, plus parts of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Type your postal code on the delivery area page to check your street. We do not deliver to the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, or outside Canada.

How long does delivery take?

Greater Vancouver and Sea to Sky take 2 to 5 business days. Everywhere else we deliver takes 3 to 9 business days. Your exact date shows at checkout.

How does the box stay frozen in transit?

Every box travels packed in dry ice and insulation so it arrives frozen. If it ever arrives thawed, see below.

What if I am not home when the box arrives?

Your box is packed in dry ice and insulation for the trip. Move everything to the freezer as soon as you get in.

What should I do when my box arrives?

Put everything in the freezer right away, unless you are baking that day.

What if my order arrives thawed?

Send us a photo within 24 hours of delivery and we will ship you a new box at no charge. Write to hello@atomebakery.com.

Storing and baking

How should I store my order?

Keep everything in the freezer until you are ready to bake.

How do I bake Atome bread and pastries?

Most products bake straight from the freezer in a home oven. Croissants bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18 to 20 minutes, with no overnight proof. See the full baking instructions for every product.

Do I need the Atome Pan?

Our baking instructions for sourdough loaves and baguettes are written for the Atome Pan. You can add one to a box for $10.

Do I need to thaw anything before baking?

Most breads and pastries bake straight from frozen. Puff pastry and pizza dough are thawed in the fridge first, vegan croissants proof for 6 to 8 hours, and each product page says so.

Gifts

Can I send Atome as a gift?

Yes. Browse ready-made gift boxes on the gifts page, build a one-time box of 6, 10 or 12 items at $149, $199 or $219, or send an e-gift card.

Allergens and contact

What allergens are in your products?

Our breads and pastries are made with wheat flour, and many contain milk and eggs. Each product page lists ingredients and allergens. None of our products are gluten-free.
