After successfully building our Western operations, we’re now launching our Eastern Canada fulfillment center, and we’re looking for the right person to own it from day one.
The Role
We’re hiring an Operations Manager – Eastern Canada to lead our first owned warehouse operation in the region.
You’ll start hands-on, picking, packing, organizing, shipping, and progressively build the systems, team, and processes that will support our growth in Eastern Canada.
You will be:
- Our eyes, hands, and brain on the ground on the other side of the country
- In direct contact with the founders and Head of Operations
- A key leader in one of Atome’s most important expansion phases

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Warehouse & Fulfillment Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Eastern Canada warehouse
- Receive pallets of frozen products, manage inventory, and ensure stock accuracy
- Oversee pick & pack for all Eastern Canada customer orders
- Ensure orders are shipped on time, correctly, and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe warehouse environment
Inventory & Process Excellence
- Use and improve inventory management systems
- Track shrinkage, discrepancies, and operational KPIs
- Continuously improve workflows, layout, and efficiency
- Flag issues early and propose solutions, we expect initiative, not waiting.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, and manage part-time pick & pack staff
- Create clear SOPs and training processes
- Schedule shifts and ensure operational coverage
- Lead with high standards while keeping a positive, respectful culture
Ownership & Communication
- Be fully accountable for Eastern Canada fulfillment performance
- Communicate clearly and proactively with founders and Head of Ops
- Act as a trusted extension of the leadership team
- Take pride in “running your operation like it’s your own business”

- Have experience in warehouse operations, fulfillment, logistics, or food operations
- Are extremely organized, reliable, and detail-oriented

- Can manage people with firmness, fairness, and empathy
Experience in frozen food, e-commerce fulfillment, or startups is a strong plus, but mindset and ownership matter more than a perfect résumé.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: CA$19.00–CA$22.00/hour (depending on experience)
About Us
Atome Bakery is a growing online bakery based in Vancouver. We make naturally fermented sourdough bread and French pastries, then freeze them at peak quality so customers can bake them fresh at home 🥖✨ We’re a small, scrappy, passionate team. We care about good bread, good people, and doing things right (even if it’s harder).
Who We’re Looking For
You’ve worked in a bakery before. You know your way around dough and spot early proofing signs. Ideally, you’ve handled sourdough and worked alongside others in a kitchen. You’re comfortable juggling a few tasks, staying organized, and being part of a tight team that cares about quality and collaboration 🤝
Key Responsibilities
Shape and proof sourdough bread and pastries with consistency and care
Mix doughs and refresh starters
Bake test batches and contribute to product improvements 🔬
Help prepare croissants, pains au chocolat, and other viennoiseries
Keep the bakery clean, safe, and organized 🧼
Occasionally support with packaging and prep when needed
Follow food safety practices at all times
Must-Haves
1+ year kitchen/food manufacturing/bakery experience (beyond home baking)
Ability to lift 20 kg flour bags and work on your feet
Team mindset — you’ll be working closely with others
Interest in sourdough, fermentation, and traditional techniques
Love for bread! 🍞
Nice-to-Haves
Experience in a production bakery or with frozen baking
FOODSAFE certification ✅
